Alright , I really had a lot of fun with the card!! I love experimenting with backgrounds and this is one of them!
First, I colored up this super fabulous image from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps. It is a re-release of Beachy Keen and it is awesome!! I used my copic markers and cut her out with my Scan n Cut.
I am in love with this card! I have lots of photos to show you the coloring and close up of the background.
For my background, I took some texture paste and added a spoonful to a paper plate. Then I added a couple drops of Peacock Feathers reinker and some Nuvo Glitter Dust. I mixed that up and applied it to my cardstock where I had attached the water droplets stencil from Gina K designs.
With the texture paste, once you are done with it clean it right away or the paste will dry on it. I let my background sit for about 24 hours before I used it but it was actually ready to go sooner than that. It’s always a good idea to let it dry real good before attaching anything to it.
I didn’t want to run it through my Big Shot because it would flatten the texture that I added (personal experience talking).. so I just trimmed it down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ . I matted it to some white cardstock and attached that to my pool colored cardstock. I didn’t think the card needed too much more and really wanted to show off the background with my summer image so I just added foam squares behind my image and attached.
To give it just a little more interest and fill in some spaces, I added some drops of the Nuvo glitter drops.
