Gina K Designs August Release Blog Hop – Day 2

Hold onto your hats for Day 2 of the Gina K Designs August 2018 Release blog hop!

Ok, so I may have had a little too much fun with this. Can you have too much fun cardmaking? Grab some coffee, tea or whatever your prefer and sit back while I showcase some amazing sets today.

This first set is featuring the Skeleton Leaves Incentive stamp set from Gina K Designs. Spend $75 or more and you could earn this stamp set for FREE! Otherwise, you will have to wait til next month to purchase it out right. I have a video showing you the Alcohol Lift Ink Technique with the Skeleton Leaves that you view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I created two backgrounds using Limeade, Sunshine Yellow and Watermelon Alcohol Ink from Tim Holtz. On one card, I wet the Yupo paper with Blending solution then added drops of Alcohol ink and tilted my paper to move it around.  One the second card, I used Isopropyl Alcohol 91% to wet my background and apply my Alcohol Inks to.

Most people avoid using certain colors together because they don’t want to get a muddy brown color but it’s exactly what I was going for in this project.

It was the perfect mix of colors for my Fall backgrounds! Next, using my Misti tool, I randomly stamped  my Skeleton Leaves on the alcohol background using the Alcohol Lift Ink. Then, I stamped it off onto a piece of white cardstock. You are getting two for one with this ink pad! Be sure to watch the video to see the other backgrounds I created by stamping off. I’ll create those into cards at a later time.

This stamp set and Alcohol Lift Ink were a match made in Heaven! Once my backgrounds were complete, I trimmed them down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ to layer on top of an A2 white cardbase.

I die cut the word Friend and Thankful multiple times from white cardstock to layer and create dimension. The final layer was Gold Glitter Cardstock from Simon Says Stamp which was the perfect finishing touch. The shadow layer is die cut from Gina K Designs Charcoal Brown cardstock.

The sentiments were stamped in embossing ink and heat embossed with White embossing powder. Then trimmed down to add to the front of the card. Don’t miss out on the Video! It shows all the steps to using the Alcohol Lift Ink with this beautiful Fall set.

Of course, I couldn’t resist playing with the brand new Holiday Wreath Builder. I have a few cards shown below that I created.

This first card is using just a couple images from the set and it’s a huge stamp set. I used Grass Green, Christmas Pine, Jelly Bean and Fresh Asparagus for the wreath and Cherry Red for the berries. I layered my card onto a card base measuring 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ from Fresh Asparagus cardstock. The center is also cut from Fresh Asparagus cardstock using the Double Stitched Circle die. The beautiful mixed font sentiment is heat embossed in the center of the die cut circle.

I finished it off with a bow cut from Crimson Glitter Cardstock and Large Bow Die. One last finishing touch is add Nuvo Shimmer to the berries and Tonic Crystal Glaze.

Next up I’m stamping on Kraft cardstock. This time I’m using a variety of images from the Holiday Wreath Builder. I stamped in Cherry Red, Fresh Asparagus, and Warm Cocoa. My card base and center piece is die cut from Ivory Cardstock.

Last but certainly not least, is using the snowflakes from the Holiday Wreath Builder. This time I heat embossed each one with Gold and Silver Embossing Powder. I die cut out the center of the wreath and using a piece of Tranquil Teal as my base, heat embossed the sentiment in the center with White Embossing Powder.

WHEW! That was fun! I hope you enjoyed all of the inspiration I’ve been showing you. I adore this release and so honored and grateful to Gina for letting me be a part of it.
