Cards Distress Oxide Inks Simon Says Stamp

Ink Smooshing – Simon Says Stamp

Afternoon everyone! I was able to play along with a couple challenges that are going on right now . This first one is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. They are celebrating their 9th birthday and have some amazing prizes for this challenge!!!
For my card today, I am going to be using the Beautiful Day Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. This was actually part of their latest card kit which I absolutely fell in love with! I kept this card pretty simple and just sat down and played with some inks.
I took a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor cardstock and will be using the smooth side. Next, using my craft mat, I took my distress ink oxides and smooshed them down onto my craft mat. Then spritzed them with water. I’m starting off with Picked Raspberry. I just take my cardstock and smoosh it down into the picked raspberry ink that I sprized. I twist and turn the cardstock a little, pick up any excess off the card with some paper towel and then use my heat tool to dry it.
I repeat this same process with the other colors which are Carved Pumpkin, Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron distress oxides. I make sure to dry in between each one so they don’t mix too much. Once I’m satisfied with the background and it’s nice and dry, I’m going to line this panel up in my Misti stamping tool. I randomly place a few butterflies from the Beautiful Day stamp and stamp them onto my panel using Versafine Black ink.
I’m going to also add a sentiment from this set as well off in the corner of the card. I will trim this panel down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and attach it to a cardbase that I created from Turquoise Sea cardstock which I’m totally in love with right now.
I love the springy feeling this card gives off. Just to add a little bit of interest I’m going to add some Nuvo Morning Dew Drops around the card.
I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did! So clean and simple yet heart warming.
