Welcome friends! I’m excited to be joining Simon Says Stamp in a blog hop celebrating their Sending Cheer release! Before we kick off the inspiration, let’s start with a special offer shall we?
Receive this not-yet-released exclusive Hedge Hugs stamp set for FREE with any purchase from the Sending Cheer collection. It will automatically be added to your cart. This offer is valid until 10/11 at 11:59pm ET or while supplies last.
Now onto some inspiration!
I know many have long been done with their Halloween cards but I am not yet ready to move on, especially since I had been sick for a while in September.
I am using the Dancing Skeletons 3D embossing folder and the black out technique. This folder reminded me so much of a Halloween song that Dalton is really into right now and when I showed him the folder, he even loved it!
For starters, this is a fantastic design and it’s the perfect technique to use with this folder.
I ran this folder through my embossing machine with white cardstock.
Then on the debossed side, I ink blended the skeletons in Limelicious, Periwinkle and Sherbet ink.
Next, I went over the panel with Versafine Claire ink. The debossed areas stayed the color I blended and the background becomes black! It’s such a magical technique! I even like how I didn’t do complete coverage with the black and bits of color are showing through.
I could have left the skeletons white but what fun is that?
I simply finished the card off with a sentiment from the Homespun Halloween stamp set.
Hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration!
