You can watch the video tutorial down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I am using the new set of Distress Mica Stains from Ranger/Tim Holtz to add some serious sparkle and shimmer to my die cuts.

I started with two pieces of Watercolor Paper each measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. On one, I sprayed Yuletide and Sugary Gumdrop. Then I sprayed water over it and let the colors collide and mix. On the second panel, I sprayed Frosty Mint, Tree Lot and Juniper Berry. Again, I sprayed with water and let the colors mix.

After the panels are dry, I die cut out the Holly Sprigs from each. So my branch has a beautiful mix of greens and blues and the berries have a mix of light and dark colors. Super shimmery too!

For the background, I die cut the Rhythm Link Pinpoint Plate from White cardstock and trimmed down each edge by 1/4″ so that the final piece measures 3 3/4″ x 5″. I backed it with another piece of cardstock measuring the same size for add dimension. Next I added this panel to an A2 size card front using Schoolhouse Red cardstock.

For the sentiment, I’m using the new Holiday Typewriter Trio die set. I die cut the word Merry from Matte Gold cardstock and layered it three more time with White cardstock.

I finished off the card by adding a clear lacquer over the top of the berries.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card project and it has given you some more ideas on using the Mica Spray Stains.
