Simon Says Stamp Hugs & Kisses Release Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway!

Hello my crafty friends! I’m so excited to be joining the Simon Says Stamp Hugs & Kisses Release Blog Hop!

I have a special card I’m dedicating to a special friend today because SHE came up with this stencil set idea!

VIDEO

I have a video that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I was so excited to see that our very own Susan Opal designed this fabulous set of animal print stencils. This is a 3-pack but I’m focusing on just one of the three today. I’ll be using the others very soon.

I used this giraffe-print stencil for my background but I think it could also be used for maybe a water background or even like a pebble stone sidewalk. Use your imagination!

I sprayed the back of the stencil with Pixie Spray and placed it over white cardstock.

Then ink blended Celery and Pearfection ink over the stencil with my large blending brush.

After removing the stencil, I used the left over ink on my brush to go back over the background.

I also splattered it with white ink for added interest.

How about this adorable toucan?! It has to be the cutest little toucan ever! I used some colors from my sampler pack of Simon Says Stamp cardstock to paper piece this cute critter together. For the tail, I used my Holographic Rainbow pack.

For the sentiment, I’m using the Hi There stamp and coordinating because I absolutely love a good coordinating die for sentiments.

I heat embossed a smaller sentiment onto Green cardstock from that same sampler pack using Alabaster embossing powder. Then trimmed out with my Sentiment Labels.

I added dimension behind my sentiments by layering cardstock and added foam squares to the toucan.

What a fun and simple card with a totally cool background. Awesome job Susan!
