Hello friends! While watching Tim Hotlz talk about alcohol inks today, I was playing with spray stains. Here’s something I don’t think I tried before. Embossing folders with my spray stains.
I’m using the new Exotic Vines embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp.
I started by embossing this design using Distress Heavystock. I had to use an extra piece of 110 lb. card stock as a shim to get this design really embedded into the heavystock
Next, I took this over to my splat box and went to town on it. I used a mix of spray stains and oxides sprays. I used Crackling Campfire and Salvaged Patina in Distress Oxide Sprays and Fossilized Amber, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers in Spray Stains.
I lightly spritzed it with water and then spritzed on Distress Mica Spray in Tarnished Brass and Antique Bronze.
Then I dried with my heat tool and check this out! I may have gone back in a time or two to intensify the color. Honestly can’t remember lol I was just spritzing and playing.
Once the panel was dry, I trimmed down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and added layers of white card stock behind it to add dimension and reduce the warping. Then added to a white card base.
This sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Outline Love. I die cut it from Matte Gold once and white card stock twice. The shadow layer is cut from vellum.
I’m also pairing this with a smaller sentiment from the Reverse Sentiment Strips.
This was a lot of fun!
I have a feeling I’m going to get asked for a video on this and I will try to work on something this week. I was just having fun spraying paper today and wanted to share what I came up with.
