Altenew September 2026 Release Inspiration

Welcome back, friends! Today I’m sharing some inspiration using new products from the September 2026 Altenew release. There are so many beautiful new products to explore, and I’m starting with the Craft Your Life Project Kit: The Afternoon Spread.

Be sure to check back tomorrow because I’ll be joining some crafty friends for a video hop featuring even more inspiration from this release!

There is always so much packed into the Craft Your Life Project Kits. I love that the products are designed to coordinate beautifully together, but they can also easily be mixed and matched with other supplies in your stash.

For today’s card, I’m using The Afternoon Spread stencil, which creates two separate floral arrangements. Having two different arrangements gave me plenty of flexibility when it came time to build the design on my card front.

I started by die cutting both floral images from white cardstock and placing the pieces onto my sticky mat. I began with the larger of the two arrangements, lining up the stencil and ink blending the flowers with colors from the Highland Floral Ink Collection.

I switched between a small and mini blending brush as I worked through the different areas of the stencil. The smaller brushes are especially helpful for keeping the colors controlled while still allowing me to build up a little extra depth in certain areas of the flowers.

For the leaves, I reached for the Tranquil Reflections Ink Collection. This collection has a beautiful mix of gray tones with just a hint of purple, and I love how it complements the floral colors without competing with them. I repeated this same color palette on the smaller floral arrangement so everything would coordinate when the pieces were brought together on the card.

With so much beautiful color in the floral arrangements, I wanted the background to add interest without distracting from them. The Heirloom Filigree Oval Embossing Folder was perfect for this.

I embossed a piece of white cardstock and trimmed the panel down to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Keeping the background white allows all of that gorgeous embossed detail to show while letting the flowers remain the star of the card.

I attached the embossed panel to my card front with foam tape and then arranged the florals over the top. I positioned them so the design begins in the upper left corner and gently sweeps across the card toward the lower right. I love how this placement naturally leads your eye through the entire design.

For the sentiment, I used one included in the Craft Your Life Project Kit: The Afternoon Spread. I stamped it in Obsidian Pigment Ink, die cut it with the coordinating die, and popped it up with foam tape in the upper right corner.

For a final bit of sparkle, I added Crystal Moonlight embellishments throughout the design. I also topped the embellishments with Glossy Accents for a little extra shine and dimension.

I love how the soft gray-purple leaves play against the brighter flowers while the embossed white background adds plenty of texture without making the card feel too busy.

Be sure to check out the rest of the September 2026 Altenew release for even more new products and inspiration. And don’t forget to stop back tomorrow when I’ll be joining a video hop with more ideas from the release.

Thanks so much for stopping by, friends. I hope today’s card inspires you to pull out your favorite floral color combination and create something beautiful!
