Layering stencils are such a fun and satisfying way to build color and dimension, and this project is a perfect example of how easy it is to achieve a stunning result using simple steps.

For today’s card, I started with the Twin Blooms stamp set along with the coordinating layering stencil. After stamping the floral image using the Stampwheel 2.0 and Permanent Mist Grey ink, I used the stencils to build color gradually, allowing each layer to add depth and richness to the design.

To make the process even easier, I used my 9×12 sticky mat, which did a great job holding the stencil securely in place while blending with small blending brushes. Having everything stay put really helps achieve smooth, controlled ink blending — especially when working through multiple stencil layers.

To color the flower, I reached for a combination of Fresh Dye Ink collections:

I used warm orange tones for the petals, soft greens for the leaves, and shades of brown to add depth to the flower center. Watching the color come together layer by layer is honestly one of my favorite parts of using stencil systems!

For the sentiment, I chose one from the Bold Bouquet set and stamped it in Obsidian Ink for a crisp, bold finish that balances the softness of the florals.

Once the coloring was complete, I trimmed the panel down to 3 3/4″ x 5″, added foam adhesive to the back for dimension, and mounted it onto a white A2 card base. The added lift helps the design stand out while keeping the overall look clean and elegant.

f you’d like to see the entire process from start to finish, be sure to catch the replay of the livestream where I walk through each step and share tips along the way.

Special Discount: Don’t forget — there’s a special discount available, but it’s only good through 2/18, so be sure to check it out while it lasts!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and I hope this project inspires you to pull out your layering stencils and start creating!
