The Petal Palette is a beautiful new ceramic plate to mix your watercolors. It has 12 wells and a large mixing area in the center. The edge of the plate is trimmed with gold and is so beautiful. This is one of those tools that may look better messy as you start mixing colors.

I have not done watercoloring in quite some time so to familiarize myself again, I created a watercolor background using a mix of Altenew Artistry Watercolors and paintbrushes.

Backgrounds are such a freeing activity when you are not sure what to create or even how the watercolors work together. It’s a chance to play and have some fun!

For the front of my project, I added a simple stamped image from the Lovely Rose Peony Set. No coloring or ink blending; just a simple image stamped in Black onto White cardstock and die cut out .
