Hero Arts September 2024 Release & Blog Hop

Welcome friends! Today I’m celebrating with my friends over at Hero Arts in a blog hop with their latest release! It’s all about Halloween!!

Halloween is one of my favorites to create for but being under the weather has limited my mojo lol. There are lots of great products in this release that I still want to play with but I was only able to muster up one card. Be sure to check out the rest of the release though – it’s awesome!

My card features the new Halloween Words Stencil and Infinity Bats.

I started by creating the background using Hero Arts watercolor paper, lightly misting it with water and then spraying Wilted Violet, Prize Ribbon, Broken China and Hickory Smoke Distress Spray Stain.

Once that was dry, I applied the Halloween Words Stencil with Gold Hero Paste.

You may notice some “ghosting” of the letters on the side of the card. So something weird happened when I was removing the stencil. Some of the paste started coming up with my stencil! I’ve never had that happen before and not sure if my paper maybe was still damp or what but it left a really cool effect. I probably couldn’t recreate this if I tried lol.

I add a bat from the Bats Infinity die cut from Black glitter cardstock and popped it up with black foam squares.

I also used a sentiment from the September Card Kit of the Month. I heat embossed it on Pitch Black cardstock with white embossing powder by stamping it in White pigment ink. Then used the coordinating die to cut it out .
