Sip Sip Hooray! Happy New Year with Honey Bee Stamps

Welcome everyone! Today I have a New Year’s card to share with you.

I have a tutorial that you can watch down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I don’t you about you but I don’t have a lot of Happy New Year products. It’s honestly hard for me to purchase any, knowing I can only use it once a year. So I went digging through my supplies to see what I could repurpose into a Happy New Year card and I found the perfect combination.

I was in a mood for a rainbow so I ink blended Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks onto white card stock using the Honey Bee Stamps blending brushes. Then I placed the Radiant Stencil over the top of my ink blended panel, and repeated those same colors in the same area. This gives a slight tone-on-tone look.

Before removing my stencil, I wiped it down with a towel and applied Iridescent Glitz Glitter Gel. I set this off on the side to dry which only took about 15 minutes and then trimmed it down to 3 3/4″ x 5″. I layered together three more pieces of white card stock, cut to the same size and added my ink blended panel. I do this for two main reasons. One, because I like how it gives support over my entire panel and two, because I’m running low on foam tape.

For my sentiment, I’m using the Sip Sip Hooray stamp/die set. I thought this matched my New Year’s concept the best. I stamped the sentiment in Embossing Ink onto Black card stock and heat embossed with White Details embossing powder. Then I used the coordinating die to cut it out and add to my card front with foam squares.

I thought my card needed one more finishing touch so I added some Rainbow Rhinestones around the sentiment using the Honey Bee Stamps glue tube.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and even though it’s not til next week, I wish you all a Happy New Year!

This card is just beautiful. I noticed you had some type of black mat underneath the oxide inks, where did you get it so I can order it?

    Thanks

    1. Thank you! I have all of the supplies listed at the end of the blog post including the mat. It’s a glass mat that I work on 🙂
