Today is featuring the new Magic Iris Birdhouse Add On. Not only can you use this with the Magic Iris for a fun interactive surprise but you can use this birdhouse on its own as well.

Lawn Fawn has also repackaged their Woodgrain Cardstock in packs of 5 and single colors of White, Light Brown or Dark Brown! You will see these new Woodgrain Cardstock packs in the shop on December 10th!

At the end of this post, you will see where my inspiration came from for my card today.

I used my birdhouse house to create an interactive squirrel house. I used two different colors of woodgrain card stock to create the house itself. I added a little bit of shading to the lighter pieces by blending on some Walnut ink with a blending brush.

For the background of my scene I used the Stitched Cloud Backdrop Portrait die cut from Mermaid card stock and lightly ink blended with Peacock Ink. I also added hills to my background using the Stitched Hillside die cut from Cilantro card stock and ink blended with Freshly Cut Grass. I needed a pop of white in the background so I used a couple clouds from the All The Clouds stamp set.

My images are from Let’s Go Nuts which I stamped onto white card stock with Jet Black ink and colored with copic markers.

After we move the lever, we reveal this cute little squirrel on a pile of acorns inside the house.

I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card using the Happy Wavy Sayings (NEW) and Simple Wavy Banners.

My decorated card front is added to a card base created from Sunflower card stock to really brighten up the whole scene.

Now here is my inspiration for my card. I have a window right next to my craft table and have set up a little feeder outside for the squirrels. I love watching them come and have their feast. They tip it over all the time but they are so fun to watch. I’ve had 4 in my yard at one time but it never lasts long as they get very territorial and chase each other lol.

Don’t forget to visit the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration and enter in the giveaways!

Yes, we bought the Squirrel Buster birdfeeder and I must say, it works. I do feed the squirrels but they get a different mix from what the birds get. I love the card, Mindy… keep keeping it real, lady!
