Cards Christmas Hero Arts

November 2020 My Monthly Hero Countdown

Welcome everyone! It’s Day 2 of the countdown to the new My Monthly Hero Kit. This is such an amazing and unique kit this month. You are going to love it!

The new kit goes live on Monday, November 2nd at 1pm EST.

What makes this kit so unique is it includes masking dies. No white edge around your image. I’ll be sharing a video on Monday exactly how to do this and some tips along the way.

For my sneak peek, I have this wonderful bird on a branch. Check out all that detail in the image! You could stamp this image in any color but I thought it would be neat to stamp it in black onto white card stock.

While this kit is great for masking scenes I’m going to be die cutting my image out so I can add dimension. I personally, like to die cut my images out first out of white card stock. Then I loaded that die cut piece up in my Misti tool, lined up the image and stamped in Intensified Black ink. You could certainly stamp in any color but I’ve decided to keep in black and white and leave the color the background.

I ink blended a piece of Dove white card stock with Dusty Blue ink and splattered with White Glimmer Metallic Ink. Then trimmed the panel down and added to a white card base.

I attached my branch with a tape runner and my bird with foam squares.

This sentiment is also found on the new stamp set in the kit. I heat embossed it in White Detail embossing powder onto Cherry card stock and added to the front of the card with foam squares.

This came out so soft and pretty. While the feel of the stamp set is kind of wintery, it certainly can be used year round just by changing up the sentiment.

WIN A KIT BEFORE YOU CAN BUY IT: Just leave a comment on the Hero Arts blog (and every) Countdown to Creativity post. We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from comments left across all countdown posts on the Hero Arts blog. The winner will be announced first thing Monday morning, November 2, before the kit launches at 10am Pacific. The more you comment, the more chances to win. Good luck!
