Gina K Designs August 2020 Release Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome everyone! Today is Day 1 of the Gina K Designs blog hop celebrating the August 2020 release. We have 3 days filled with inspiration and a giveaway so be sure to stick around.

The first set we are showcasing today is the new Wildflowers & Weeds stamp set.

When I think of the wheel that is included on the set, I imagine an old barn and I knew the perfect set to use for this. I created my background by stamping an image from Perfect Pallets. I used Soft Stone ink on white card stock.

After the ink was dry, I heat embossed the wheel onto the background using Brass embossing powder. I stamped leaves from the Wildflowers & Weeds stamp set in Fresh Asparagus and Jelly Bean Green ink and arranged on one side of the wheel. The couple flowers I added are stamped in Obsidian ink and I added flicks of light pink to the center.

I wanted to keep the card very soft looking which is why I didn’t color in the flowers the entire way.

The sentiment is from the Delightful Blooms stamp set in which I heat embossed in Brass embossing powder onto Black cardstock. I kept the sentiment small as to not take away from the background.

My next card features the gorgeous new Beautiful Butterflies.

I ink blended a panel of layering white card stock with Red Velvet, Tangerine Twist, Wild Dandelion, Lucky Clover, Turquoise Sea and Lovely Lavender using a blending brush.

Once my panel was completely dry, I stamped the butterflies with my Misti 2.0 in embossing ink and heat embossed in Champagne embossing powder.

I used the Master Layouts 1 & 2 to die cut out the mats for my cards and layer together for a dot runner.

The sentiment comes from a Big Hello stamp set. I heat embossed it in Champagne embossing powder for consistency and trimmed it down to a thin strip. I added the sentiment strip to my card using black foam squares and adhered a few Clear Quartz Solid Sequins around it.

Here is a board you can save for reference of the color blends used.

We are also showcasing the set Grow Positive Thoughts. This stamp set has a large, gorgeous image and filled with encouraging sentiments.

I ink blended a panel of layering white with Wild Dandelion and Passionate Pink. Then stamped my image using the Obsidian Ink.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration!

I also have a video from release night showcasing the card kit. You can view that HERE over on Youtube.
