Cards Distress Spray Stains My Favorite Things

MFT July 2020 Release

Welcome back everyone! I’m excited to be joining MFT & Friends to showcase the July 2020 release from My Favorite Things! I love creating with MFT products so I always get a little giddy when I get to play with some of the release.

My first card is one of my favorites! It’s the Big Birthday Wishes Die-namics. It’s just what it is. A big birthday wish. As you can see it cuts out words for a good part of the card front

There are so many different things I thought of doing behind my birthday wish. I settled on heat embossing in white the Number Jumble Background stamp. Then I ink blended Festive Berries, Mustard Seed, Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks.

I trimmed the front panel down to my favorite size which is 3 3/4″ x 5″ and mounted to a Fog card base.

Next we have the new set Best Friends in the Universe. Well of course I had to do a galaxy background!

I created the background using Distress Spray Stains in Black Soot, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron on Tim Holtz Watercolor cardstock. After the panel was dry, I trimmed it down and lightly ink blended Black Soot Distress Ink to deepen the edges.

Here’s the trick to perfect splatters. I covered the background in Micro-glaze. Then splattered on Picket Fence White Paint with a splatter brush. I get the brightest white stars when doing this. A good tip I learned from Tim.

This next card might make you hungry. We have All the Cupcakes! I used the Square Extraorginaire to ink blend a background in Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide inks.

With white pigment ink, I lightly ink blended on dots with the Card Sized Confetti Stencil.

Another great set is the Fun Flowers. I love the simplicity of the flowers.

I stamped a random background using white pigmnet ink and Kraft cardstock.

Last but certainly not least is Balloon Bundle. Who doesn’t love a bunch of balloons?! Well, in real life, they scare me lol. I am one of those people who is scared of when they pop but on a card…. totally adorable!

I paired the balloons with the Card Sized Confetti stencil for a festive look.

Whew! Can you believe there is more from the release?! This was just a sampling but I always have so much fun creating with MFT!
