Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Hydrangea Release Blop Hop & Giveaway

Welcome everyone! It’s time for a new Paint-A-Flower from Altenew and we have a gorgeous Hydrangea set.

Today I wanted to show you another way to use the Paint-A-Flower sets.

I started by heat embossing my image in White embossing powder on a various colors of cardstock that measure 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″. Using a stamping positioner, like the Misti, was kind of essential in this case because I could stamp the image in the same exact place every time.

I trimmed all the pieces down to thin strips and separated into piles. Then I just sat and created backgrounds by switching up the colors and making sure the floral image lined up. It was actually a very relaxing process and I got quite a few cards out of this.

I adhered the strips to a piece of 80 lb. white cardstock and trimmed it down. Then added that panel to a white card base. I adore the different shades of color with the thick white border.

I finished off each of the cards with a sentiment that is heat embossed in White onto Black card stock.

Here’s another one of the cards. The image and design is all the same but the colors are in a different order.

And one more where the purples are towards the top.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration!

Those graphic backgrounds coupled with the wide white border are the perfect foil for the white outline of the hydrangea stamp! Perfection – simple but so eye-catching.
