Spring Fling Gina K Designs Challenge with Tombow Markers + VIDEO

Welcome everyone! It’s the start of a new month which means it’s time for a new challenge over at Gina K Designs! We’d love for you to play along with us! The challenge this month is Spring Fling! All you need to do is create a project using Gina K Designs products with the theme Spring in mind.

I’m sharing a ton of inspiration with you today so hold on tight!

I have a video tutorial on how I created these cards over on my Youtube channel that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

I fell in love with the design of this card so much I mass produced a bunch of them! They are really simple to make and so much fun!

I will be using the Love and Kindness stamp set along with Petals & Wings and Wrapped In Love throughout all of my cards.

To create these striking butterflies, I watercolored Tombow Markers onto watercolor paper. Once dry, I stamped the butterfly in Obsidian ink and die cut out multiples.

The colors I used for the background are: 856, 723, 933, 055, 173, 403 and 665.

I also colored one of the butterflies with my Tombow markers to resemble an actual Monarch butterfly. I used the colors 856, 933 and 055.

On a panel of white cardstock measuring 3 3/4″ x 5″, I stamped the leaves in Key Lime ink with a comfort block. The leaves come from the stamp set Petals & Wings.

Using my Misti Tool, I was able to stamp this beautiful sentiment onto a bunch of panels quickly. This sentiment from the Love & Kindness set, I thought was fitting for the times right now and will putting these cards in the mail for people who need a little cheering up.

After all the stamping was done, I attached the stamped panel to a white A2 size panel with my Gina K Designs Dot Runner.

Some of the butterflies I popped up with foam squares and some of them I attached directly to the card front.

Not only are these perfect to send out to our silent heros but they are a great reminder that Spring is coming.

I just love all the different colors that my Tombow blended panel was able to create.

I provided lots of examples for you!

Can you tell I was having a ton of fun!

The card below is the butterfly I watercolored with Tombow markers.

This next panel I did not include in the video but it’s where I created an entire background of butterflies. I stamped them all in Obsidian ink.

I showed this panel on my Instagram story because I had such a hard time deciding where to put the sentiment. I didn’t want to cover up the background!

All of my butterflies were colored in with a variety of copic markers.

I finally settled on this small strip sentiment from the Wrapped in Love stamp set. I heat embossed it in white onto black cardstock and trimmed down to a thin strip. To make it stand out a little more from the background, I adde the sentiment to a piece of white cardstock and trimmed down.

Thank you for sticking with me throughout this long post. I hope it inspired you to create something Springy! Be sure to link it up over on the Gina K Designs blog for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Gina K Designs store!

    1. lol Hi Kellie! I’ve only done zoom once so far and that was a team meeting just last week. Very different to be talking TO the camera instead of hiding behind it. Hugs!
