Altenew Cards Washi Tape

Altenew March 2020 Washi Tapes Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome everyone! I’m excited to be a part of the Blog Hop today featuring the new Washi Tapes Release for Altenew. Washi tapes make it so simple to create cards. I had a ton of fun!

My first card is featuring the Gold Splatter Navy Washi Tape. While this would make a great background for a card, I decided to do something a little different.

I dug through my dies for a leaf die cut. This one I’m using came from the Virginia Rose 3D die set but you could use any coordinating die of a stamp set you have.

I attached the washi tape to piece of white cardstock and die cut the leaf images from it. Then I arranged the foliage onto a white card base.

So simple and yet so striking! I just finished it off with a sentiment die cut from Gold Foil cardstock using the Bold Greetings.

My next features a variety of washi tape that is being released. I took a hand full of white cardstock and started to attach different colors of washi tape from the Summer Afternoon, Seashore and Rose Petal sets.

Once again, I used the leaves from the Virginia Rose 3D die set and die cut it from my backgrounds. I had a bunch that I could use on cards!

I took a handful of the leaves that I die cut and attached them with liquid. glue to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of white cardstock. Then trimmed off any that hung off the edges.

After attaching the Fancy For You that I die cut from gold foil cardstock, I adhered to a white A2 size card base.

Below is another way I used the panels I had lined with the variety of washi tape. This time I die cut a shape using the coordinating die from Dot Botanicals. I just simply added a sentiment from the Fancy Greetings stamp set.

So clean and simple and would be very easy to mass produce.

This is another way to use those backgrounds. This time I used the coordinating die of the Dot Botanicals and die cut from white cardstock. I added this to the front of my panel.

This time I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Bright Blossoms stamp set.

Once I found something that really works, I tend to get a little carried away. I used the Dot Botanicals coordinating die set and die cut out the image again. This time, I had lined a piece of white cardstock with the Marbled Dream washi tape. It’s absolutely stunning as it has this marbled look with shiny gold in it! That also makes it really hard to capture the true beauty on camera.

My last card features the Tea Party washi tape set. These sets come similar to the ink pad sets where you get 4 different shades of a certain color. I lined those on white cardstock and attached a die cut using the Dainty Blooms cover plate.

Having these different shades is really fun to create backgrounds with.
