Welcome everyone! I’m kicking off the week by sharing a beautiful new stamp set from Picket Fence Studios called Watercolor Trees.
I love this type of stamp set where it’s like a silhouette because it gives me a chance to experiment with different backgrounds. For my first card, I ink blended Taffy, Grape Slush and Creamsicle Hero Arts Reactive Inks using my Life Changing Blender Brushes. This combination creates a dreamy sunset.
I had used the Circle Stencil to mask off the area where I wanted to ink blend. Leaving the stencil in place after blending, I then stamped the Watercolor Trees in Versafine Ink using my Misti Tool.
My sentiment is from the stamp set Tightening Her Bra Strap. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink onto Pitch Black card stock and then heat embossed with white embossing powder using my Wagner heat tool. Once cool, I trimmed down to a thin strip and added to my card front with foam tape.
This next card was kind of an accident that I turned into a card front. I was playing around with a technique where I was stamping off onto a piece of scratch card stock. I was using a variety of colors from Gina K Designs including Jelly Bean Green, Fresh Asparagus and Black Inks. I didn’t like what my panel was looking like but I loved what the scratch card stock looked like that I was stamping off onto. So, I trimmed the scratch piece down using a circle die and used THAT for my card front.
I like to call these happy accidents. I added my happy accident to a piece of Sea Salt card stock which I then mounted to a white A2 card base. I finished it off with a sentiment from the Watercolor Trees stamp set.
Such a gorgeous set! There are days I’ll just sit and ink blend or create different backgrounds and then set off on the side. The new Watercolor Trees is a perfect stamp set to finish off those backgrounds.
