Altenew February 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil/Watercolors Release Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY + VIDEO

Welcome everyone to the new February 2020 release from Altenew! We have inspiration, giveaways and a video for you today!

I have a video to share with you today featuring some of the new products being released including a new stamp set, the amazing new Cutting Mat and the Artist Watercolors! You can view the video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

The minute I saw the new Watercolor Roses set I knew just what I wanted to do. A while back I saw Kristina Werner do some watercoloring by first stamping in Distress Ink. This is the perfect set to try that technique out.

I first stamped my images onto Artistico Extra White Cold Pressed paper using Antique Linen Distress Ink and my Misti Stamping Tool. It doesn’t matter if you get a good impression of the images, as long as you can basically see them.

Using my Altenew Watercolor brush and the new Artist Watercolors, I water colored my images.

Once the watercolor was completely dry, which you can help along with a heat tool if you have little patience like me, I trimmed down my card front to 3 3/4″ x 5″.

I heat embossed the “Believe” sentiment twice onto the card and attached my smaller sentiment onto the card front with foam tape.

This technique is a really good way to practice watercoloring if you struggle with it.

For my next card, I’m using the Dotted Diamonds background stamp and New Beginnings stamp set. The background was created by heat embossing the background stamp onto Nautical card stock with Sparkle Embossing powder. Then ink blending the edges with dark colors.

I wanted to try something a little different and instead of coloring the images, I heat embossed them in Gold onto a variety of colors of card stock.

My next card is very similar in which I heat embossed the images in Gold Embossing Powder onto various colors of card stock. This time, I randomly arranged the images onto a 3 3/4″ x 5″ white panel. Then adding to a card front created with Arctic card stock.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration and it gave a few different ideas how you can use your floral stamp sets.
