Waffle Flower January 2020 Release Blog Hop & Giveaways

Welcome everyone! It’s time for the January release from Waffle Flower and we are celebrating with a blog hop! I’m so excited to be joining the Waffle Flower team this year and showcasing their fabulous products each month. You’ll also be seeing a video from me each month using something from the latest release.

I have lots to share today (and some I’m saving for later **wink*wink*) so grab a coffee or tea and enjoy!

VIDEO

Here is my video for the Love You card I created using the Oversized Love Word Die from the January 2020 release. You can watch the video down below or HERE on my Youtube channel. This is going to be a must-have in your craft stash!

My card starts by stamping the Blossoms stamp set in clear ink and heat embossing with Sparkle Embossing Powder onto Innocent Pink card stock.

Next, I die cut the Oversized Love Word Die from White card stock and Gold Glitter card stock. I layered the White on top of the Gold with liquid glue by slightly off-setting them. This creates kind of a shadow look.

Then I attached to the front of my card. Clean, simple and elegant all in one card.

We go from clean and simple to dramatic and vibrant. For this card, I’m using the Blossoms stamp set in which I stamped onto Neenah Solar White card stock with black ink using my Misti tool. I made sure not to remove the image from the Misti because I will be using it again.

I copic colored my Blossom image. The colors I used are:

  • R37, R35, R32, R30
  • B000, B02
  • YR23, Y38, Y15, Y06
  • V12
  • G16, G14
  • YG01, YG17

After I finished coloring and my ink was dry, I placed the panel back into my Misti and stamped the image again in Clear ink. Then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I used the coordinating to cut out the image.

For the background, I started with a piece of Tranquil Teal card stock. I ink blended Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks around the edges and a little bit of Sea Salt blended in the middle using blending brushes.

Then I flicked on Glimmer Metallic Ink around the card front and attached my Blossoms image with (lots of) foam squares.

The sentiment comes from the Oversized Love Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Gold Embossing Powder onto Black card stock.

Next we have this really unique set called Special Delivery. I started by stamping the block image onto a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white card stock. This is my template so-to-speak.

I’m using a Misti tool to do my stamping but you could certainly use blocks as well. The block image we stamped is our guide to create the scene but with different colors. With the template in my Misti, I lined up the individual stamp images and stamped them in a variety of colors onto another piece of card stock.

You could also use these individual images to create your own scenes which gives you more versatility from this stamp set!

After my images were all stamped out, I using the Nesting Postage Die to cut out the scene. I die cut the same size Nesting Postage die a few more times from white card stock and layered them all together for dimension.

I created the background by cutting up strips of white glitter card stock and a variety of colored card stock. I attached them to a white card base and trimmed off the excess.

Next, we have this super sweet set called Love You Bunnies. I stamped the images in copic friendly ink and colored with copic markers. Then used the coordinating die to cut them out.

For the background, I started by creating my own stencil with the Heart Panel Die. On a piece of Innocent Pink card stock, I lined up my DIY stencil and ink blended a light shade of pink. I picked up my stencil, shifted it over and ink blended again but with a darker shade of pink. (I’m sorry I forgot to write down my colors)

Leaving my stencil in place from the second color, I added a little bit of Moonstone Glimmer Paste. Once the panel was dry, I trimmed it down and added to a white card base.

I surprised myself on this next card.

The Heart Panel Die has a lot of uses and for this card I did some die cut inlay. This is a little time consuming but I had this idea and love how it came out!

I die cut the Heart Panel Die from multiple colors of card stock and one from white card stock. I attached the white panel onto a white card base. Then I inlaid the hearts in rainbow order.

I stamped this fun sentiment from the Fresh Rainbow Sentiments stamp set onto white card stock with black ink. Then die cut with the Nesting Circles Die and added to my card front with foam squares.

I guess I was in a mood to do die-cut inlay.

For my next card, I’m using the Fresh Rainbow Panel Die. Once again, I die cut it from a variety of colored card stock and one from white.

I attached the white die cut to a white card base and inlaid the colored pieces with liquid glue.

I stamped a sentiment from the Fresh Rainbow Stamp set in the middle using black ink. This card seriously makes me so happy to look at it!

Whew! What a release! I hope something I created inspired you. I will have MORE of this release to share later this month.
