Cards Christmas Stencils Taylored Expressions

Taylored Expressions Nordic Snowflake + VIDEO

Welcome everyone! Are you still making holiday cards? I am! I will probably be making them right up until Christmas to be honest.

Today I’m joining with Taylored Expressions and friends to bring you inspiration using the Blending Brushes. You know I love my ink blending!

VIDEO

I have a video showing how I created this card that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube Channel. I apologize in advance that I do not have a voiceover done for the video but I hope you enjoy the beautiful holiday music. December is getting away from me.

I am going to start working on the background of my card first. To protect my work surface, I am going to be ink blending on the Waffle Flower Palette Paper. I will spray my Nordic Snowflake stencil with Pixie Spray which will give the stencil a light tackiness and hold my stencil in place while I ink blend.

Once my stencil is in place on a piece of Watermelon cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, I’m going to ink blend Cherry Pop and Mulled Wine using my Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes. I’m going to remove the stencil and lightly go around the edges of the card as well.

Since my stencil is still tacky, I’m going to reattach it to my card by lining up the snowflakes. Then I will spritz it with Sheer Shimmer Spray. After removing the stencil again, I will rinse it in the sink. If you find it’s hard to clean the red off, spritz it with a stamp cleaner, gently rub with a cloth or your fingers and then rinse. Clean as new!

While my background is drying, I will work on my die cut elements. I am using the Vintage Sled and Winter Greens dies from Taylored Expressions. I am die cutting the sled from Kraft, the “metal” pieces of the sled in Gold Foil cardstock, the bow from Pixie Dust cardstock and the greenery from Lime Zest.

I use a liquid glue to attach my elements and adhere to my card front.

I want to keep the sentiment fairly small to show off the background and the sled. For this, I will be using the Holiday Mini Strips. I will stamp in embossing ink onto Oreo cardstock and heat emboss in white. The mini strips sets make creating sentiments so super easy!

To attach the sentiment, I’ll be using the Taylored Expressions Foam Sticky Strips.

Hi Mindy! I REALLY enjoyed your video! I’ve been a card maker for many years and I love, love learning new things. Like spraying the shimmer spritz, only thru the stencil and gluing die cuts on a non-sticky surface. Your card is beautiful and I thank you for the wonderful video!
