Cards My Favorite Things

My Favorite Things December 2019 Release

I’m so excited to be sharing with you today some inspiration using the My Favorite Things December Release!

I’m going to kick it off with this adorable Pure Innocence stamp set called You’re My Person. The images are stamped in copic friendly ink onto Neenah Solar White card and colored with copic markers. I used the following copic blends:

  • Skin – E04, E21, E11, E-01
  • Pink Shirt – Pattern paper then colored with RV17, RV14, RV11
  • Shorts – B28, B26, B23, B32
  • Purple Dress – BV17, BV13, BV02
  • Socks – C2, C0
  • Hair – E27, E25, E23; E37, E35, YR24, YR20

For the background, I ink blended Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink then die cut with the Hearts Entwined. My card base is made from Fog cardstock layered with white card stock. I added a sentiment from the Friends Furever Stamp set (which may or may not be available anymore) heat embossed with Silver Embossing powder on Black card stock and die cut with the Fishtail Sentiments die.

This next card was completely Laura Bassen inspired. She has a way with stripes that are just amazing. I trimmed down strips of Kiwi, Pesto and Palm card stock and added to a background. Then die cut with the Blueprint 29 dienamics (older die set) for the stitched border.

This adorable little panda is from the NEW Panda pals stamp set. I also added Big Smile die-namics die cut 3 times from white card stock and layered with liquid glue.

One of my absolute favorites from this release is the Magical Friends stamp set. I have a thing for dragons and this one tickles my fancy!

I have a card base made from Fog card stock layered with white card stock in which I stamped the Crosshatch Polka Dot background using Whisper Ink. It’s very light in the picture but it adds just a little something to the background and you can see it great in person.

My center piece is ink blended with Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink and die cut using a circle die. I flicked on Rose Gold Liquid Ink for stars.

One more with the Magical Friends stamp set (told ya I love it!) is this colorful card. For the background, I ink blended Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink. Then I added the Radiating Rays stencil and lightly ink blended Picked Raspberry over the top so the rays fade off into the sky. I flicked on Liquid Stardust for a little sparkle in the sky.

I then added the City Block that I die cut from Black card stock. Once I knew where my image was going to go, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Ink. My image is attached using foam squares.

Copic Colors Used

  • Dragon – G29, YG67, YG03, YG01
  • Wings – YR23, Y38, Y15, Y06
  • Skin – E04, E11, E01
  • Hair – E27, E25, E23, E21
  • Shirt – B00, B02, B00

Last but not least is the Big Hugs Cirlce Frame Die. I dug through my stash and found some of the circle pouches from MFT so I could make a shaker card. I also happen to have a scrap piece of paper from when I was testing out Metallic Watercolors and die cut the Big Hugs Circle Frame. I think it came out awesome!

The sentiment is from the Lots of Hugs stamp set. I love how I can mix and match sets and they work so perfectly together.

Here’s a closer look and the shine in the metallic watercolors.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration!
