Altenew November 2019 Gradient Cardstock Release Blog Hop

Welcome everyone! Thank you for stopping by today. I’m really excited for today’s post because Altenew is coming out with something I’ve been dreaming of: Gradient Cardstock! We are celebrating with a blog hop filled with inspiration and prizes which I will have all of that information listed at the end of the post so I hope you’ll stick around.

First let’s take a look at the colors shall we? These are showing the 6 different packs that are being released. Each pack contains 8 sheets of each color and the sheets are 3″ x 6″ which is a perfect size for the Altenew Blossom die cutting machine.

I am head over heels in love with the fact that they have this variety of color in a set just like their ink pads!

I have lots of inspiration to share with you! My first card is featuring the Peony Dream 3D set. I have a thing for peonies. I die cut one from the Shades of Purple pack and a second flower from the Cherry Blossom pack. The leaves I used Green Meadows.

For the background I lightly ink blended Deep Iris Ink and then splattered the background with the purple Metallic watercolor from Altenew.

I layered the flowers onto the front of the card panel with a dot runner and foam squares. The sentiment is from the Dot Botanicals stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold embossing powder onto black cardstock and trimmed to a thin strip.

Even though these packs are in thin strips, you can still use them with your cover plates. For this one, I used a large die cutting machine. I die cut the Layered Floral Cover die A & B from the Sea Shore paper pack.

I filled the gap in the middle with a sentiment from the BAF Fuschia stamp set.

On the next card, I used some scraps I had from the Red Cosmos pack. I attached them to a piece of white cardstock and then die cut a heart out of it. The heart shape is from the Festive Foliage stamp set and finished off with a sentiment from the Rose Blossom stamp set.

I was having fun with scraps and made another card using strips cut from the Shades of Purple pack. I used this as my background.

Once again I used the heart die from Festive Foliage and die cut it from Silve Glitter cardstock.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Rose Blossom stamp set.

This card below is once again using the Peony Dream 3D die cut from various colors from the Red Cosmos pack and Green Meadows.

The background was created by ink blending the Marble Stencil onto Stormy Sky cardstock with Industrial Diamond ink from Altenew. I paired it with a sentiment from the Japanese Mum stamp set.

Last but not lease is another way you can use your full cover dies. I die cut one of end of the Layered Floral Cover A & B die from Cherry Blossom, Summer Afternoon and Green Meadows paper packs. I trimmed around the edges to make it look like these were just layered flowers and not a cover die.

Before attaching my florals to the card front, I stamped a sentiment from Crafty Greetings in Obsidian ink. I attached my leaves and pink flower with a tape runner and the yellow flower is attached with foam squares.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration! I am truly loving this cardstock!

All your cards are wonderful! I think my favorite is your first one…the background really softens the very distinct edges of the flowers. My eye keeps going back to that one.
