CARD DETAILS

I’m so excited to share this fun new stamp set with you from Picket Fence Studios. It is a large 6″x 8″ stamp set with 5 different snowmen, some cute critters, a variety of sentiments and other fun Christmas/Winter elements.

I’m going to do something I don’t normally do. Masking. I’m not a fan of fussy cutting but it was one of those things that HAD to be done for the card I had in mind.

I’m starting by stamping my snowmen onto Neenah Solar White card stock with Picket Fence Studios Black Hybrid Ink. I’m also going to stamp this image onto Simon Says Stamp Masking paper and fussy cut just inside the stamped black line of the image. Then I can attach over my snowman on my card.

Using some post it tape, I’m going to create my own hills and layer that onto my card front to protect my snow while I create the sky.

I’m going to be working on my Waffle Flower Media Mat which is a Silicone mat that is great for working with different types of media. I like to ink blend on it because my card doesn’t slide around

Using the 2 1/2″ Blending Circle Stencil, I will mask off the mask and ink blend Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink in the circle. I’m just going to apply this lightly to the outer edges with my Life Changing Blender Brush.

I’ll remove the stencil and use the second piece of it which will cover the moon and protect my image while I do the sky.

I’m going to ink blend using Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide inks. I can remove the stencil and masks but reattach the mask for my front hill. Then I’ll ink Tumbled Glass working from the top of the post tape up towards the top of the hill. I’m going to leave the top of the hill white to reflect a glow from the moon.

After I remove my masks, I will color in the snowman with my copic markers. The colors I used are listed below

  • Snowman – BV00, BV000,BV0000
  • Hat – R17, R22, R21
  • Buttons – G03
  • Carrot – YR18, YR14
  • Hat Pom Pom – C2- C0
  • Dog #1 – E27, E25, E23, E21
  • Dog #2 – W5, W4, W2, W1

Normally with an ink blended background, I’ll flick water onto it but this time I’m using Lawn Fawn’s Liquid Stardust. It’s absolutely gorgeous and so sparkly! I’ll shake the bottle up well and then squeeze a couple of drops onto my work surface. Then picking up with a paint brush I’ll flick this all across my background.

I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink onto black card stock and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I trimmed this down to a thin strip and attached to my card front with black foam squares.

I thought this was missing something so I also stamped out two dogs and colored those in with the copic markers. After fussy cutting the images out leaving a white border, I’ll attach to the card front with white foam squares.

Hope you enjoyed today’s card! Be sure to head on over and grab yours before it sells out !
