Ocean Scene Reveal Wheel

Welcome everyone! Recently my husband and daughter took a 7-day trip to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. I stayed back with our son but they sent me amazing, breath-taking pictures! One of them was a picture of beach and the gorgeous shades of blue in the water. I tried to recreate a card inspired by this image.

Breath-taking right? I’ve never been to the ocean but this is exactly what I hope to see some day.

For my card, I masked off the top half of a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and ink blended Salty Ocean. After removing the mask and placing on top of my sky, I ink blended Chipped Sapphire.

I ink blended a few more strips of card stock using Chipped Sapphire and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide and die cut them using the Stitched Simple Wavy Border. I also die cut these pieces with the Reveal Wheel die. This way I could layer the front of my card.

I added palm trees using the Tropical Background using Paper Bag and Cilantro card stock. I know there wasn’t palm trees in the original picture but the bottom of my card needed something. I also added some cute little kitties from the Keep On Swimming stamp/die set.

I have a little mountain in the background that I got from the Ahoy Matey Stamp set.

To create the reveal wheel I used the Reveal Wheel Die, Reveal Wheel Friends & Family Sentiments, & Reveal Wheel Essential Shapes Templates.

So what do you think? Did I come close? I love the different shades of water.

I hope you enjoyed today’s inspiration. This is a perfect time to create an interactive card and enter it in the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #58 – Interactive.
