Cards Hero Arts Watercolors

Hero Arts May Kit

Welcome everyone! So happy you’re joining me today. I’m sharing some cards I created using the Hero Arts May 2019 Kit. These kits are jam packed with product for an amazing price! There are also coordinating Add-ons that you can purchase which I’ll also be playing with today. If you enjoy this kit, be sure to head over and grab it! Once it sells out it’s gone. The Add-ons will always get restocked but the kits are limited.

I have a tutorial on how I created these cards that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel.

For my cards today, I’m playing with some of the Liquid Watercolors from Hero Arts. I really enjoy liquid watercolors because I feel like I have a little more control over the colors. They come in glass bottles with a dropper.

I start both cards by stamping the Crafting Tools Bold Prints Add On in Versafine ink onto Canson Watercolor card stock. Then, I add clear embossing powder and heat set.

I’m using the Waffle Flower Water Media Mat to do my watercoloring. It has a nice work area and off on one side are little wells that help contain your watercolors. It’s pretty easy to clean up too!

I used Strawberry, Orange, Dandelion, Leaf (my fav!), Deep Ocean and Purple watercolors from Hero Arts. These are super vibrant! I didn’t really water them down except for the water I added to my card stock for a wet on wet technique. The brush I’m using today is a Simply Simmons #12 Round Brush. I couldn’t find it online but I did link to a similar one.

You’ll have to check the video for a fun picture I shared of how messy it can and how wonderful it comes clean with some water, a rag and baby wipes.

I used the Nesting Infinity Rectangle dies to cut out my watercolored card panels. I layered them on top of white card stock with foam tape and then attached to a A2 size notecard made from Fog card stock.

These fun sentiments are from the Crafty Messages stamp set which is also an Add On. My rainbow card has a sentiment from the kit. There are tons are great messages there!

This next card is a little bonus in my video. I have previously stamped these images from the kit onto Neenah white solar card stock in copic friendly ink. Then colored with copic markers and used the coordinating die to cut them out with my Gemini Jr.

I attached each of the images to a white card base using foam tape. A little tedious but love the look! Using the new Hero Hues Black card stock, I stamped a sentiment from the Crafty Messages stamp set in the Embossing Ink that is also in the kit. Then heat embossed White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.

Playing with watercolors is tons of fun! I love the wet on wet technique because it’s fascinating watching the color spread on its own. Very therapeutic.

I hope you enjoyed this inspiration using the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for May 2019.
