Now how about some inspiration? I’m kicking it off with this little sweetheart from the So Proud of You stamp set. I stamped the image in copic friendly ink and colored with copics markers. My color combination is E04, E11, E21, E01 for the skin, YG67,YG17, YG03, YG21 for the green and V17, V15, and V12 for the purples.

For my background, I ink smooshed Shaded Lilac and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide Inks onto Canson Watercolor card stock. I trimmed this panel down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and added to a white card panel with foam tape. I attached my panel to a card base made from Lovely Lavender which tied in nicely with my purples.

Alrighty, my next card may be my favorite and I owe it all to my husband and my early 20’s. Keep reading – I’ll tell ya about it in a sec.

I started my card by masking off the bottom portion of my Bristol Smooth card stock with post it tape. Then I ink blended Faded Jeans, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink with the amazing Life Changing Blender Brushes. I flicked with water and once dry, I removed the post it tape.

I lined up these fun silhouettes from the My Man My Friend set across the ink blended area using my Misti and stamped with Versafine Black ink. Picket Fence Studios is really good for having these fun, snarky sentiments. There are quite a few on this stamp set so be sure to visit the store and check it out. This brother sentiment cracked me up so I stamped it under my blending using Versafine ink.

Now, I showed my hubby my card (which I always do when I finish a card). His first response was, “who’s that? Backstreet Boys?”. OMG. I see it! I totally see it now! I didn’t even think of that when I stamped it but now that he said that, I am totally seeing the Boy Bands in this card and you know what? I love it! Yes, I loved my boy bands.

Did you like the “boy band era” ? Who was your favorite? Let me know in the comments – I’m totally curious. I was a huge Backstreet Boys and NSYNC fan. (secretly I still am. I pull it up on Pandora sometimes when I’m working)

My brothers are quite a bit older then me so they won’t get the whole “boy band era” but come on – totally cool right?!

Anywho, I hope you enjoyed today’s post and maybe have some boy bands songs stuck in your head now.

Be sure to leave a comment to be entered into the amazing GIVEAWAY! Happy First Birthday Picket Fence Studios! Thank you!
