Cards Gina K Designs

Gina K Designs April Release

It’s time for the April 2019 release from Gina K Designs! She’s hit it out of the ball park again with this one! I have a ton of inspiration to share with you tonight.

VIDEO DETAILS

I have a video creating TWO cards using the Elegant Aster card kit that you can view either down below or HERE on my Youtube channel. I’m head over heels in love with this kit!

For my first card, I random stamped a background onto Heavy Weight white card stock with Black Amalgam ink. Then added to a card base created from Barely There with using craft foam and double sided tape.

Check out this fun sentiment! I die cut the word Hello from Layering White card stock and kept the pieces all together by applying a strip of post it tape to the back. Then ink blended Red Hot, Wild Dandelion and Sea Glass ink with a Life Changing Brush. I stacked two more layers cut from White card stock and added to the front of the card.

The friend sentiment is from the Spring Joy stamp set and I thought it paired nicely with my die cut word.

For my next card, I ink blended Red Hot, Wild Dandelion and Sea Glass ink onto Layering card stock. Then watered down some Perfect Pearls and flicked onto the background with a paint brush. Once it was dry, I layered it onto a piece of white card stock and added to a card base made from Whisper card stock.

Since my background is so vibrant, I kept the flowers simple. They are stamped in Black Amalgam ink onto white heavy weight card stock and cut out with the coordinating die using my Gemini Jr. I arranged them on the card front and attached with Connect glue.

Now. For this Hugs word die. I am loving how this came out. I started with a piece of black card stock and applied Black Glitz Glitter Gel with a palette knife. I kept it a nice smooth layer and let dry. Leaving it dry over night is best but to make sure it’s good and dry enough for die cutting , I suggest at least 4 hours.

Once my DIY glitter paper was dry, I die cut the word Hugs. I layered it with 3-4 more Hugs that I cut from regular black card stock and added to the front of my card. To top this off and really make that glitter pop, I added Crystalline Drops over the Glitz Glitter Gel. It will look a little foggy when wet but once dry – wow! Seriously. Try this! It’s gorgeous! Just think of the possibilities with the other colors of Glitz Glitter Gel.

My sentiment is off of the Hugs stamp set. I stamped in Embossing ink onto black card stock and heat embossed white embossing powder. Then trimmed down to a thin strip. I added the strip to a piece of white card stock and trimmed out leaving a white border. I am loving this label look.

Once everything was dry on my card front, I could attach my sentiment.

Be sure to check out the video HERE for more details.

Onto some more inspiration from the release! Lisa is rocking these gorgeous sets. She created Hugs and Wildflowers and I love it because it makes me feel like an artist lol.

Gina is also releasing numerous small sets like the Wishes die you see in the photos. There is a stamp set that has small coordinating sentiments and they are definitely going to be a staple in my craft stash.

Here’s another card created using Hugs & Wildflowers. This time I ink blended a small strip on the side and added the die cut stamped images.

Once again, I used the Hugs word die and a coordinating sentiment.

Graduation time is closing in which makes Beth’s stamp set perfect! I created a clean and simple card using the grad cap from the set. I layered Whisper, White and Stormy Sky card stock which makes a perfect neutral combo. You could also switch out the Stormy Sky for a color card stock based on school colors.

This next one featuring For the Grad, I dug out my laminator and foiled a background. I then ink blended the same color over top. These are actually the school colors of our district and I’ll be needing graduation cards so I’m pumped I’m ready to go!

Are you ready for some serious cuteness!? Melanie has designed the Puppies Galore stamp set and she packed it with so many amazing elements. I can’t wait to show you my colored up image but for today I’m going to tease you with this card where I created a background.

I love those little pawprints! These would also work with the Kitty stamp set that she has.

Whew! You still hanging in there with me? I hope you enjoyed the inspiration I’ve shared with you tonight.
