Welcome to Day 2 of the Gina K Designs Blog Hop! I hope enjoyed yesterday’s inspiration and we have more to share. Today we are featuring To The Moon & Back and also Wonderful World. These are two of my favorite sets because both have elements I can use in creating awesome sky backgrounds.
I also have a tutorial on my card that you can view down below or HERE on my Youtube channel. It’s a really quick and easy card to make but I love to show you the amazing products up close.
Before I begin, I’m going to take a piece of Blue Denim card stock measuring 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and heat emboss the sentiment at the bottom with Silver Embossing Powder. I’m doing this first because otherwise my card panel will be wet with ink and I don’t have patience for it to dry. Any ink the gets on the sentiment I can wipe off with a towel.
The background is super simple to create. I ink blended the edges with Black Onyx Ink with a Life Changing Blender Brush. I just ink the edges, getting lighter as it got towards the center of the card. I left the center the dark blue so there was contrast.
Next, I mixed Pearl Perfects with a few spots of water and flicked onto my background using a paint brush. This is such a fun and quick way to create a night time sky.
For the moon, I stamped the solid circle in Whisper Ink and the inside parts of the moon with Soft Stone Ink. The Earth is stamped in Black Amalgam ink and colored with copic markers. Then I used the coordinating dies for each to cut them out.
I added my Moon and Earth to the card by adhering the Moon straight to the card base with Gina K Adhesive. The Earth I popped up with foam squares for dimension.
My next card is complete opposite of my first card lol. It’s very vibrant and bright. I took strips of card stock from my scraps and added them to a card panel in rainbow order. Then I trimmed this piece down to 3 3/4″ x 5″ .
I dusted the front of the panel with an anti static powder tool and stamped my image on the card stock panel using Versamark ink. Then sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and melted with my heat tool. I did have to take a paint brush and brush away the little flakes that wanted to stick in between the cracks of card stock.
Once embossed, I added to a panel measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then to an A2 size white card base. My sentiment is stamped onto Black card stock and heat embossed with White Embossing panel. Then added to the front of the card with foam squares. Those foam squares, I tell ya, best thing ever!
