Alcohol inks Cards Distress Oxide Inks My Favorite Things

Tweet Friends + Good Time To Wine + GIVEAWAY!

Welcome back everyone! I’m so excited for today’s post. Grab a coffee or tea, I have lots of pictures and information to share today. Bonus TWO videos! Plus a GIVEAWAY sponsored by My Favorite Things.
I had the pleasure of getting my fingers on this set early. The Tweet Friends stamp set is designed by Stacey Yacula for My Favorite Things and has just the cutest images and sentiments on it. This also has a coordinating die that you can purchase separately. I have to admit, it was nice to break away from Christmas related crafting for a while.

I couldn’t resist creating a little scene with these tweethearts. I copic colored my images using Neenah White Cardstock and MFT Extreme Black Ink. Then used the coordinating die to cut them out.
For my scene, I ink blended Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar and Antique Linen Distress Oxide inks. I added one of my favorite stencils to the sky which is the Radiating Rays Stencil. Keeping this panel one layer, I ink blended Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks using the Grassy Edges Stencil.
I die cut the bold SMILE word die from the panel and attached to a white A2 size cardbase. I also die cut the bold SMILE word die from white cardstock 3 more times. The first set, I layered right into the negative space. This made the front of my panel one layer. Then I added my colored images. Next, I stacked my other two layers of the SMILE word die. This gives the illusion my images are behind the word which I think is super cool.

CARD DETAILS

Have you ever tried the shaker pouches from MFT? I will admit, this is my first time and oh so much fun!! Be sure to check out my video for a closer look!
I played around with alcohol inks to create bold backgrounds for both cards. Alcohol inks are so much fun to work with and you never get the same look twice. It’s always a surprise! I highly recommend using the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. It’s a great surface to work on and easy clean up. You don’t see it in my videos too often because it’s really hard for me to film with it without getting a reflection but I use it all the time off screen.
These shaker pouches would look great with just glitter cardstock in the background but throw in some sequins and check out that sparkle! This wine glass would be great to make cards for weddings, anniversaries, New Years, or just get togethers with friends.
For my card, I die cut the wine glass from gold glitter cardstock and the back of the glass from white glitter cardstock. The shaker pouch is easily attached using 1/8″ scortape which is super strong adhesive. For the inside of my shaker, I used a variety of sequins including 3mm, 4mm, and 6mm sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
My next card is featuring the Mondo CHEERS die that you can get FREE with a $60 purchase. It’s such a great size and takes up center stage on my second alcohol inked background. Check out in my VIDEO how I got those amazing spots on the background with the alcohol inks. I tested out adding Isopropyl Alcohol to a mini mister and spritzing my Yupo Paper. I don’t have the Isopropyl linked to anyway but I just picked mine up at Walmart. You can really find it anywhere just makes sure it’s at least 91% Isopropyl Alcohol.
I didn’t think the card needed much more but you could certainly add a sentiment underneath if you chose. I die cut the CHEERS from white glitter cardstock which seems to be my addiction lately.
I’ll have all the supplies listed below.
Whew! That was a lot! I hope you stuck around til the end. I separated out the supply lists for convenience.
