For my card today I’m featuring the boxer. My husband is really into boxing so I was really drawn to this image. I tried something a little different and tried to create a scene around my image. I picture my rock star boxer in the ring under the spot light.
I started by stamping my image onto Neenah white cardstock 80lb with Wicked Black ink. I drew in some lines with my copic liner hoping that it resembled a boxing ring. Then I started coloring my spotlight. I started with the lightest color Y04 and outlined how far the light would cascade out. Then starting adding my darkest color Y35 to the edges and blending in. I added the mat and just did dark shadows around the card.
For coloring the image, I wanted to make sure it looked like the light was coming from above. I added the Y35 to the top of the head as that would be the closest to the light. I also added a few shadows on the mat as if the body of the image was casting a shadow (which it would be).
