Alcohol inks Cards Czdesign Embossing Simon Says Stamp

Embossing on Alcohol Ink Background -Simon Says Stamp

Hey everyone! There is something I’ve been wanting to try and finally sat down to give it a go last weekend. That was embossing on Yupo paper. I love playing with the alcohol inks and creating amazing backgrounds and this takes it up to the next level.
I’m starting my card by mixing Pool, Wild Plum, and Purple Twilight alcohol inks along with the Gold Mixative on Yupo paper. I moved the colors around by adding drops of the blending solution and blowing on the paper with a straw.
Normally, when you are going to emboss, you dust your paper with an anti static powder tool/bag and honestly, I can’t remember if I did that or not. I did however, trim my paper down to 3 3/4 x 5″ and added to my Misti stamping tool. I’m using the Ornate background stamp from Simon Says Stamp and ink that up with Simon Says Stamp Clear ink. Then I stamp this onto my alcohol ink background and add gold embossing powder.
This next part is tricky. I made sure to heat my embossing gun up real good. Then I quickly started going over the card to emboss it. The thing with the Yupo paper is it will curl super fast if you leave your heat gun on a certain area for too long. Almost like its melting. So I would apply the heat to an area quickly, then remove the heat from paper. I did this continuously until all the powder was melted.
I did have areas start to curl but to fix that I adhered adhesive generously to the back of the panel. This helps keeps all my corners down. This came out so beautiful!! I’m so glad I tried it out!
I layered my panel onto a white cardstock piece in which I added to a black cardstock base. My sentiment is die cut from a black piece of cardstock as well using the You da Best die cut from Simon Says Stamp/CZ Design. I cut two and layered them up for dimension. I also used the layered piece to this and diecut it out of vellum.
I finished if off by adding a Nuvo glimmer pen over all the letters and topping it off with Nuvo Crystal Glaze.
I’m so happy how this came out!
