Cards Colored pencils Distress Oxide Inks Pink and Main

A Pocket Full of Posies – Pink & Main

Pink & Main just came out with their April 2018 release and it’s so adorable!!! Be sure to visit my walk through video on the release HERE on my youtube channel.
For today’s card I’m using the Pocket of Sunshine stamp set and die.
I love that you can add different images to this pocket and really get creative! I was drawn to the flowers right away because they are so unique looking! I finally took the dive and dug out some colored pencils for this as I really like how they look on kraft cardstock.
I stamped my image onto the kraft cardstock using the MFT Black ink. Then I colored up my images with colored pencils. I used both the Prisma colored pencils and a few Polychromos. I tried to add a little shading where I could but I’ll be honest,  I’m not real comfortable with pencils (or patient). Pencils usually take longer because you need to build up color verses copics where I can just blend my colors in one or two layers.
Once I finished colored the flowers I worked on my pocket. I took some Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended some Faded Denim and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide. Then spritzed with water and dabbed up with a paper towel. That really gives it the faded jeans look! I used the coordinating die to cut out the pocket and add to my card panel with foam tape.
The sentiment is also from the Pocket of Sunshine stamp set which I just stamped on white cardstock and trimmed down to a small strip to add over my pocket. I used a few glossy dots to finish off the card. I really love how this came out and that pocket is perfect!!
Hope you enjoyed the card today!
