Welcome everyone to the Stamping for Autism Awareness Blog Hop! I am very excited to be a part of this hop as this touches me personally. My son who is 7 1/2 right now has Autism. We found out very early in his life and have had many therapists, teachers and support staff work with him. Although Autism has brought us difficulties and many challenges, it is also so rewarding. It truly makes you appreciate the small accomplishments in life. We realize Dalton, our son, may run into many obstacles throughout his life as he grows but honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing. He has the best sense of humor and can make you laugh (and cry) in the drop of a hat.

My card for today’s hop is using Pink & Main products. I am always in need of Thank You and Appreciation cards because the staff that works with my son is absolutely amazing! These men and women have the biggest hearts!
I am starting my card by creating the puzzle heart. I am taking a Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blending Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade and Salty Ocean distress oxide ink. I’m sure to blend into the previous color to create a rainbow. Then I will cut out the Heart Puzzle die from this ink blended piece. When I remove it from Big Shot, I am being careful to keep the whole thing together. Next, I’m going to use some Micropore tape and tape all over the back of the die cut piece to keep it together.
Before I go too much further, I’m going to color up this sweet bear from the To Pieces stamp set. I stamp two extra bears because I want to color just the arm on one of them and ink blend the puzzle piece on the other. I try to match the colors of the puzzle piece to my ink blended die cut. Then I will use the coordinating die for my complete bear and fussy cut the arm and puzzle piece from the other. I will them paper piece those cuts to my bear. I have a video showing how I did all of this too.
Like I stated earlier, I’m always in need of Thank You cards so I used the Thanks Die and cut this from black cardstock 3 times so I can layer them up for dimension. To complete my card, I add my die cut puzzle piece heart to an A2 size cardbase using double side tape. Next I add my Thanks die cut piece. I also stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and added under my Thanks die. My little bear is popped up with foam squares and then I lightly added some shading underneath him. To finish off the card, I add Nuvo Glimmer to the Thanks die cut piece and once dried, I topped it off with Nuvo Glaze. I couldn’t resist adding some jewels around the heart for some more sparkle!
