Be sure to visit the YNS blog for more inspiration and make your wish list and then join us for the new release Blog Hop at 10pm est.
My card is featuring the new Humming by stamp set and Sweet die. This is such an adorable stamp set and is has a coordinating die that you can purchase separately. These dies come in so handy and can be used for so many different techniques.
I’m going to start out my card with a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″. Using a box to protect my area, I’m going to spritz it with Distress Resist Spray. Using tweezers to remove it from the box I will then speed up the drying process by applying some light heat with my heat tool.
Once the panel is completely dry, I’m going to apply Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink working in a diagonal pattern. Then I’m going to wipe off my card with a paper towel to remove the ink from the Distress Resist Spray and really make those white speckles pop! This resist spray would work beautifully for galaxy backgrounds!
Next, I stamp my image onto Neeenah White cardstock with YNS Black ink which is a copic friendly ink and color my image with copic markers. I’ll use the coordinating die to cut out my image. To stamp my sentiment, I’m going to place the sentiment in my Misti tool. I just want the first two words so I’m going to ink up my sentiment with YNS Black ink and mask off the word “sweet” with a post it note, holding the post it note down to the door of my Misti with some micropore tape. Stamp once and then repeat.
The reason I masked off the bottom word is because I have a die for this word that I wanted to use. I cut 3 of the from white cardstock and one from White Glitter CS. Then I’ll layer up my sentiment using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive making sure the last one I attach is the glitter cardstock. Then I can assemble my card. For a finishing touch, I added some gumdrop embellishments that matched my distress oxide.
I have a video that walks through my process of the card that you can view below or HERE on my Youtube channel.
