Magical Princess Shaker Window – C.C. Designs

I have a fun shaker card for you today using some stamps and dies from C.C. Designs! This is from their February release. I thought it would be fun to create a shaker card where I could see to the inside of the card. I was picturing sparkles falling around the image. Here is what I came up with! I also have a video on my process that you can view down below or on my youtube channel HERE.

I started out by stamping my images onto Neenah white cardstock and coloring with my copic markers. Then I cut them out with the coordinating die set. I love have dies to match my stamp sets!! This card is a perfect example of why!
For my card, I’m starting out with two pieces of cardstock. One is my base which the front measure 41/4″ x 5 1/2″ and another piece (my panel) that measures 4″ x 5 1/4″. I line up my card fronts and hold in place with a piece of post it note tape. Then I line up a circle die to the front, center it and hold in place with some post it tape as well. I will open up the card so I don’t cut through the entire card. I just want the circle to cut out my panel and the front piece of the card. I run that through my die cut machine a couple times to make sure it cuts both pieces.
Now I have my window. I’m going to trim down two pieces of acetate and attach one to the backside of my panel and the other to the front of the card using double sided adhesive. Next, I take a long strip of foam tape, fold it in half and remove all the backing. It’s easier to bend this around the circle frame when the backing isn’t on it. This goes ontop of the acetate that is on the panel. I’ll fill in around the card with some remaining pieces of foam tape so the front is nice and stable.
I’ll add a variety of sequins, stars and glitter to the acetate on the front of my card, piling it in the middle. Then take the front panel and add that on top making sure to line up my circles.
For the inside of my card, I’m going to ink blend Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet distress oxides onto some Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I’ll spritz with water and dab up with a paper towel. This will get adhered to the inside of my card.  I’m going to add adhesive to my previously colored carriage and slightly close the card so I can line up where my carriage should be that close the card so the adhesive catches it and attaches. I’ll add the little mice down below so it’s an extra surprise when they open the card. Because I thought it needed a little something more, I added the sentiment to the bottom using Versafine Black ink.
To finish off the front of the card, I stamped the sentiment “Live like there is no midnight” onto white cardstock and die cut a banner around it. I attached this to the front of the card and added my Cinderella on top of the one edge.
This finishes off my card. Thank you so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the February Release from C.C. Designs! Supplies used are listed down below.
