Preview Day 1 – Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Baby Love

Welcome to Day ONE of our February release of 2018
at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Today we’re kickin’ off the party….or should I say shower….
with a sweet new set from our fabulous artist, Melissa Baker-Nguyen!

This versatile set is called BABY LOVE!
This gorgeous set comes with lots of large images, smaller accessory stamps, scenery stamps and awesome words & sentiments!! You’ll be able to design shower invitations, birth announcements and baby cards not to mention gift tags, bags and boxes and amazing scrapbook pages! Think of the possibilities!

How adorable is this set!? I decided to do a little paper piecing for my image today. I stamped my little elephant out onto some polka dot paper from Doodlebug then I cut around the image. Next, I found a color in my copic markers that was a litle darker then the paper so I could still add some shading and dimension to my image. Coloring on pattern paper is a little tricky but can be done. It’s thinner so you have to be careful and not add a lot of layers with your markers.

For the cardbase I started with a piece of white cardstock measuing 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2 or A2 size. Then I added a layer using some gray polka patter paper from an old Tickled Pink Paper Pack from C.C. Designs. Next, is another layer of white cardstock that I cut out from the Blueprint 29 die so I had a cute stitched edge. I also cut out a heart from the middle using the Heart die from Pink & Main. I thought about doing a shaker card but found this star pattern paper in my Tinkled Pink Pack and thought it was super cute and loved the colors. So I added that behind my heart window and attached the white stitched edge piece to my gray polka dot. Whew! Not as hard as it all sounds – just a lot of layering.

The sentiment is from the Baby Love stamp set and I heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. Then used a stitched banner die from Make a Card #17 from C.C. Designs to cut out around the sentiment and add to my heart window. I think this all came together so nice and so sweet!

So this is a great way to show you how else you can use your stamps other than coloring in the whole image. Adding pattern paper really gives them some character!
