Finally had some time to play with this super cute Halloween set from Lawn Fawn and I thought it would be great to try out this DIY interactive card trick that I picked up from Jennifer McQuire. I’ll link to her video HERE if you want to check it out. This also gave a chance to enter my card into the Lawn Fawn Challenge for creating a scene.
I will have all the supplies listed down below.
I started out creating my background by blending Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserve, and Black Soot distress ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock to create my Halloween Sky. I spritzed with my Tim Holtz spray bottle for the water droplets look. Then I ran that through my diecut machine with Blueprint 29 die for the stitched edge. Next, I cut some grass with the Grassy Edges die using black cardstock.
Before I create the interactive part, I’m going to first stamp and color my image. I used the cute … ghost monster? lol not sure what he is but it’s cute! I stamped onto Neenah white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my copics markers. Then I cut it out with my Scan n Cut but there are also coordinating dies for this set which I’ll link below.
Next, using a circle die that was just a little smaller then my image, I cut a hole in the front of my card. I also cut a larger circle that will go behind that hole in the front. I added a button to the middle of my larger circle and had it sticking through the hole of the front of the card. Then glued my ghost onto that button. I used foam tape all around the back of my panel making sure to leave room for that big circle to move around in the back. Make sure to reference Jennifer’s video if you like more visual instructions.
This creates such a fun little DIY interactive card where when you shake the card the little ghost moves around – its so cute and fun!
To finish off the card I adhered the panel to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding base. I cut the moon out from a circle die and colored it up with copics to make it look like a moon. The sentiment is also from the Monster Mash set in which I white embossed embossed onto a strip of black cardstock I cut using the Blueprint 29 die. Last but not least is the Silver Moondust Nuvo drops for stars!

I watched Jennifers video yesterday and wondered how it would work if there wasn't a string holding the item in place.. sort of anyway. So thanks for showing such a sweet card with no strings attached. I'll be that he moves a lot. Making this one FUN card!
