Sea Jewels – Kraftin Kimmie Challenge

It’s time for another challenge over at Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! Today is water challenge! Of course I absolutely HAD to use the new (old) Sea Jewels set. This is a re-release from Kraftim Kimmie stamps and I adore it ! I mean…. who doesn’t love mermaids?!
Be sure to check out the Kraftim Kimmie Blog for more details on entering the challenge and chance to win some goodies – plus there is soooo much going on this weekend – you don’t want to miss out !
I decided to try something a little different for my card today. I’m sure this has been around a while but last week was the first time I’ve seen something like it … so …. I hit up youtube to figure it out haha! I created a water (gel) card. Soooooo cool in person. Great interactive card!
I started by coloring up my mermaid. There are actually 3 mermaids on this set and I chose the one sitting down – I thought she would work well with my “water” window. I used my copics and cut it out with my Scan n Cut.
Next, I started my card. The part in the middle is actually a small jewelry type of ziploc bag filled with hand sanitizer and some sequins mix. Cool right?! I cut a window from some patterned paper and white cardstock. The patterned paper wasn’t real thick that is why I cut the rectangle frame from both and glued them together for my window.
I laid my bag down where it will go and added foam tape around the bag and the rest of the paper. I adhered this to another piece of patterned paper with fishes on it. Then my little baggie just slides in and I taped the little extra part of the top down behind that was sticking out . The rest is just matting the card up and adding a sentiment. For some fun…. I also added some Nuvo Jewel Drops Sea Breeze.
