Cards Distress Oxide Inks Masking Neat and Tangled

Magical Day – Masking with Neat & Tangled

The days are just flying by – don’t you agree? Before we know it, school will be back in session and let me tell you … I will be ready to give out some cards to the teachers !
Today I’m sharing a card I made for the Neat & Tangled monthly challenge – Masking. Now … masking is NOT my favorite technique because it usually means I have to fussy cut haha! And you all know how I love my Scan n Cut machine ! But ….. I do find it a beautiful technique!
I created a mask for my unicorn (spirit animal ha!) using the Inkadinkado Masking Paper. I stamped my image onto my Neenah White Cardstock and added my mask on top.
Next I put a strip of the same masking paper on the top and bottom of my cardstock. I typically use my painters tape but sometimes it rips the paper and I thought “hey! you have masking paper!” … so I used that and it worked perfectly!
I left the small strip through the middle and had my unicorn sticking out the top. Then I blended Abandoned Coral, Wild Honey and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks.
Once I removed my masking strips, I started coloring the unicorn with my copic markers. I was going off an image in my head of the beautiful all white unicorns like I used to collect figures of…. I don’t know if I did it justice but I sure tried! For a finishing touch, I added some Pink Lemonade & Pixie Dust Sequins Mix.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card and it inspired you to create!
